QUETTA: At least 20 people were murdered and three others injured when militants opened fire on a labour camp in Balochistan’s Turbat area on Saturday, private media reported.
The murdered labourers belonged to Punjab and Sindh provinces and were working on bridge at Sohrab Dam in Gadan area of Turbat.
Dead bodies and injured have been shifted to Turbat Hospital. Hospital sources said most of the bullets injuries are at the upper part of body.
According to Commissioner Makran Pasand Khan Buledi 16 dead hailed from Sadiqabad and Rahim Yar Khan while four other belonged to Hyedarbad.
After Turbat incident, CM Balochistan Abdul Malik cancelled his official activities and chaired a meeting on law and order in Turbat, CM announced Rs 1 million for the families of victims and Rs 50,000 for injured.
Moreover, Balochistan Interior Minister Sarfraz Bughti claimed that militant group funded by Raw(Research and Analysis Wing) Indian Secret agency, was responsible of the Turbat attack.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack. In a statement PM denounced the killing of Twenty labourers in a terrorist attack in Turbat. He expressed deep grief over the incident and also sought report of the incident.
