QUETTA - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday warned the anti-state elements to prepare themselves for dire consequences and said that those found involved in any sort of activity against national interest will not be spared at any cost, adding that the armed forces responsible for security will go to any length to establish writ of the state.
He said this during his visit to the Southern Command Headquarters in Quetta where he was briefed by military officials concerned about the ongoing operations against terrorists in Balochistan. Gen Sharif said that the armed forces of Pakistan were striving hard to bring peace and prosperity to the province, adding that the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) will continue its construction projects in the area.
The army chief expressed his condolences over killing of workers in Turbat and warned all miscreants and foreign intelligence agencies to refrain from interference in the country. Gen Sharif said that the army will continue to support the provincial government till the elimination of terrorism, saying the state will go to any extent to establish its writ.
The army chief clarified that those found involved in funding and facilitating the terrorists will be dealt with iron hands.
