Air Marshal Khan appointed as vice chief of the air staff

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has appointed Air Marshal Saeed Muhammad Khan as Pakistan Air Force Vice Chief of the Air Staff.

Air Marshal Saeed Muhammad Khan was commissioned in GD (P) Branch of Pakistan Air Force in October 1981.





During his illustrious career, he has commanded a fighter squadron, a fighter wing, an operational air base and a regional air command. He has served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Administration) at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. He has also served as Director General Media at Inter Services Intelligence Headquarters, Islamabad and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Training) at Air Headquarters Islamabad.

Air Marshal Khan is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School and National Defence University. He is a recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-e-Basalat.

Meanwhile, the government has promoted Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Ashfaque Arain to the rank of Air Marshal. Air Marshal Arain was commissioned in GD (P) Branch of Pakistan Air Force in October 1981.

During his distinguished career, he has commanded a fighter squadron and an operational air base. In his staff appointments he has served as Director Operations, Director Strategic Operations, Chief Project Director Project Horizon, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operations), Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Plans), Director General Projects and Director General Air Force Strategic Command at Air Headquarters Islamabad.

He has also served as Air Attaché in India. Presently he is performing his duties as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Administration) at Air Headquarters Islamabad.

He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College and National Defence University. He is a recipient of Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-e-Basalat.
