Karachi – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday arrived in Karachi on one-day visit.
According to sources, PM will review a high-level meeting regarding law and order situation in Karachi
.
During the meeting, PM will be briefed over implementation of National Action Plan (NAP), incidents of violence in the metropolis and Joint Interrogation Report (JIT) on Baldia Town factory. Former president Asif Ali Zardari has also been invited in the meeting.
Sources said the premier will also hold a one-on-one meeting with Mr. Zardari during which they’ll discuss measures to maintain law and order in Karachi. He will also meet a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif has also arrived in Karachi to review law and order situation. He visited Rangers Headquarters in the city today where Director General (DG) Rangers briefed him on security situation and the targeted operation being carried out against miscreants.
Army chief appreciated the achievements of Rangers in the operation and said that Pakistan Army will extend over possible support to law enforcement agencies for restoring and maintaining peace and peace in the metropolis.
COAS said Pakistan Army would go to any length to restore peace in Karachi.
