Pakistan and Australia discuss defence cooperation

ISLAMABAD- Pakistan and Australia today agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of defence and security, including military training, during talks between Australian Chief of Defence Force Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at Army General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.


According to Inter-Service Public Relations, matters of mutual interest including measures to further enhance defence came under discussion.
Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin offered full cooperation to Pakistan. Earlier, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented Guard of Honour to the dignitary.
According to our sources, the regional security situation also came under discussion. Sharif apprised the Australian defence chief about Pakistan's achievement in the ongoing operation in North Waziristan.
