LARKANA: A Pakistan Army personnel, Havaldar Abdur Rahim Ghanghro, who was martyred in Orakzai Agency in operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ against terrorists, was laid to rest with full military honours at his ancestral graveyard in village Bhai Khan Ghanghro, on the outskirts of Ratodero town, on Wednesday.
He was about 38 and belonged to the 12 Sindh Regiment. The martyred Havaldar was recruited as soldier in the Pakistan Army in 1998. He leaves behind a widow, two daughters and two sons.
His funeral was attended by GOC Panno Akil Garrison Major General Muhammad Arif Saleem Warraich, Brigadier Hamid Nasir, Lt Col Talat Waseem Arshad, Deputy Commissioner Larkana Javed Ahmad Jagirani, SSP Larkana Kamran Nawaz, District Vice President PPP Larkana Haji Khair Muhammad Sheikh, civil, army and Rangers officials, villagers and his relatives.
GOC Panno Aqil Garrison Maj Gen Muhammad Arif Saleem Warraich laid floral wreaths on behalf of President of Pakistan, Chairman Joints Chiefs Staff Committee, the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Corps Commander Sindh, while Brig Hamid Nasir laid floral wreaths on behalf of Commandant General Sindh Regiment on his grave.
Lt Col Talat Waseem, representing the Pak Army, unfurled the national flag on the grave of Abdur Raheem Ghanghro.A smartly-turned-out contingent of the Pak Army Jawans presented the guard of honour and last respects to the martyr, who sacrificed his life while defending the motherland.
Speaking on the occasion, the GOC Panno Aqil said the operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ against terrorists would continue till final victory. He said Pak Army’s morale was touching skies after the whole nation extended moral support to the operation.
He said the nation prays for all the martyred soldiers.Maj Gen Muhammad Arif Saleem Warraich said the nation is proud of its martyrs. He said the army in general and his unit in particular feels honoured over the martyrdom of Hawaldar Abdur Raheem Ghanghro. His martyrdom has infused a new life in the troops as well as in the entire nation.
Shaheed Ghanghro’s brother Qadir Bakhsh Ghanghro said it was his desire to embrace martyrdom defending the motherland. He saluted the Pak Army and wished them total success in Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists and establishment of complete peace in the country.
