Maj Shabir Sharif Sheead (Nashina-e-Haider) and General Raheel Sharif’s mother passes away

 Rawalpindi- Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif's mother died in Rawalpindi today. 






According to Director General (DG) Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa, she died while undergoing treatment at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC). The funeral prayers will be held in Chaklala Garrison at 1:45 pm today. She will be laid to rest in Lahore's Cavalry ground after Asr prayers. President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif shared their condolences with the grieving family.
General Raheel is the youngest of three brothers and two sisters. His brother Major Shabbir Sharif, who lost his life during the 1971 war on Dec 6 at Sulemanki Sector, is one of the most decorated soldiers of the Pakistan Army. He is the recipient of Sword of Honour, Sitar-i-Jurrat and Nishan-i-Haider, the three most coveted awards of the army. General Raheel's other brother Mumtaz Sharif also served in the army, but took an early retirement citing medical reasons.
