Maulana Abdul Aziz to be arrested soon: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General  Asim Bajwa has said Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz’s arrest warrants have been issued and action needs to be taken.

Speaking in a ceremony in Britain, DG ISPR Asim Bajwa said that different options were under consideration for the arrest of Maulana Abdul Aziz.
He said that they were targeting only those Islamic institutions who had links with terrorists.
Asim siad that Pakistan had got renewed faith in the war against terrorism. He added that there was no such people as good Taliban.
Senior Civil Judge Saqib Jawad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Maulana Abdul Aziz while hearing a case filed by civil society members.
During the hearing, the investigation officer of the case requested the court to issue an arrest warrant for Abdul Aziz for investigation, based on a First Information Report (FIR) that was previously registered against the cleric at Aabpara Police Station.
