Beijing praises success of Zarb-e-Azb

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, currently on an official visit to China, called on China's Vice Chairman Central Military Commission, General Fan Changlong, on Sunday morning in Beijing. During the unprecedented meeting held in a warmth and cordial atmosphere on Sunday morning, General Fan termed Pakistan and China as solid strategic partners, most important neighbours and iron brothers, Director General ISPR General Asim Saleem Bajwa tweeted on social media.



 

Showing solidarity with people of Pakistan, armed forces versus any challenge, General Fan praised the success of the Zarb-e-Azb military operation against terrorists and termed it a hard blow for terrorists, without any discrimination. 

General Fan praised national consensus to combat terrorism, Pakistan's resolve, efforts and sacrifices in fighting the menace of terrorism. He also assured China's full support to Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. 

The COAS said that with nation's support, Pakistan armed forces are fully determined and will go to any extent to eliminate terrorism from our soil. 

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Sunday held an extensive meeting with his Chinese counterpart in Beijing, China. 

Full range of regional security, defence related issues were discussed in the meeting, said a press release issued by ISPR here. 

COAS reviewed guard of honour along with his Chinese counterpart, General Qi Jianguo, at PLA Headquarters. 

During the high profile meeting, enhanced long term defence collaboration, security and counter terrorism cooperation, intelligence sharing, training exchanges were decided.
