RAW terrorism

For the first time, a corps commander conference directly accused RAW of supporting terrorism in Pakistan. According to ISPR: “The conference also took serious notice of RAW’s involvement in whipping up terrorism in Pakistan.” Earlier, COAS Gen Raheel Sharif had warned “foreign governments and intelligence agencies” against their involvement in the insurgency in Balochistan.

Many army men say that in addition to Balochistan, RAW footprints have also been found in Karachi and Fata. However, despite widespread claims of RAW’s involvement, it is unfortunate that no concrete proof has been gathered by the Pakistani authorities and given to the Indian government. It seems that the hardening of Pakistan’s position on the RAW-sponsored terrorism is partly in response to India’s narrative of being a victim of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Both Pakistan and India need to move beyond rhetoric.
