Heavy shelling by Pakistan Rangers in Jammu’s Kathua sector

Jammu: With unrest in Kashmir valley continues to prevail with an uneasy calm after the arrest of Masarat Alam, the Pakistani Rangers on Sunday again resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian position on international border in Kathua sector of Jammu region.



This latest round of unprovoked ceasefire violation came in wake of banned Terrorist Group Jamat-ul-Dawa chief Hafeez Sayeed, sitting under secure cover of Pak forces, claiming that the Pakistan Army had been supporting the jihad which he and Masarat Alam had been fighting sitting on two sides of the border.
According to an official, the heavy shelling by the Pakistan rangers was reported at Hariyachak, Pansar and Pahadpur villages in Hiranagar sub sector of Kathua district.
The official said that three mortar shells launched from across the border landed at Chann Lal Din village situated near the international border.
Gauging the mood of the Pakistan Rangers, the BSF personnel have also started retaliating to Pakistan shelling that started around 6.45 pm in equal measures, further said the official who added that the firing exchange was on till reports last came in.
