RAWALPINDI – Federal Secretary Defence Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Alam Khattak held one-on-one meeting with Egyptian Army Chief Mehmood Hegazi and Secretary Defence Egypt General Sedqi Sobhi Sayed in Cairo on Monday.
The meetings were held on the sidelines of 9th Military Cooperation Committee meeting held in Cairo. Pakistani delegation was headed by Secretary Defence, Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Alam Khattak, according to a message received here. During the meetings it was agreed that bilateral ties between Egypt and Pakistan are of significant importance.
“Both the sides need to expand and strengthen all aspects of bilateral relations including defence and defence production,” said secretary defence adding that there is a potential between the two countries to explore new avenues of mutual cooperation, close relations between the two countries base upon similarity of views on all important regional and international issues.
The meeting ended with the hope that the MCC will continue on reciprocal basis and prove beneficial in enhancing defence ties between Pakistan and Egypt.
