Afghan chief of general staff calls on Pak army chief

RAWALPINDI: General Sher Mohammad Karimi, Chief of General Staff of Afghan National Army, visited General Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday and called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.




During the meeting, matters relating to peace and stability in the region and especially in Afghanistan; Pak-Afghan border management; and measures to further enhance defence and training cooperation between the two armies were discussed.

Earlier, on arrival at General Headquarters, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary. General Karimi also laid floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered fateha for Shuhada.

It may be mentioned here that the visiting Afghan general will be the chief guest at the passing out parade at PMA Kakul and address the parade today.
