Pakistan Army chief General Raheel Sharif on 17 February asked Afghan president Ashraf Ghani to hand over six Taliban militants suspected of involvement in last December's vicious attack on a school in Pakistan's northern city of Peshawar. The militants were subsequently arrested in Afghanistan.
Gen Sharif's request, according to a senior Pakistani government official, was made during a day-long visit to Kabul, the Afghan capital, where he met with the Afghan president and other senior Afghan civil and military officials.
