US assures all support to Pakistan in fighting terrorism

ISLAMABAD - Acknowledging the role played by Pakistan Armed Forces in fighting the menace of terrorism, US Centcom Commander General Lloyd Austin on Wednesday assured Pakistan of the support US will extend to its friends and partner.

Pakistan's army chief Raheel Sharif says 'India-backed terror' linked to LoC firing

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's army chief today claimed that there was a link between "Indian-sponsored terrorism" and violation of the ceasefire along the LoC even as the military said that eight Pakistani civilians had died in the firing. 

General Raheel Sharif's comments came as he visited Rangers headquarters where he was briefed about the latest situation on the Line of Control (LoC). 

The army chief alleged India had blatantly violated the ceasefire along the LoC and the international border and "crossed all limits to terrorise Pakistan's civilian population disregarding international conventions and norms," military spokesman Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa tweeted.

PM, COAS agree to continue operation against terrorists, criminals

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday reiterated their resolve to continue the operation against criminals and terrorists across the country to optimally utilise the environment created due to the phenomenal successes of Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
